Cyber Monday is one of the largest shopping days of the year, and it’s only getting bigger. In fact, sales on Cyber Monday are expected to grow 15% this year. More money will be spent, and more of it will be spent through a mobile phone. There is no doubt that Cyber Monday growth will reach double digits for the 5 consecutive year, and your Facebook store should be part of your selling strategy following Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.
If you’re already selling on Facebook, you understand the opportunity this presents for your business. Lucky for you, preparing your Facebook store for Cyber Monday can be quick and painless. You could even set up your Facebook shop on Sunday night.
Here are the 8 steps you need to take to launch before Monday and take advantage of your social shoppers:
1. Create a Facebook Store
Already sell on Facebook? Great! Still need to set up a Facebook store? No problem. You can sign up for a free Facebook store trial here and test you Cyber Monday strategy at no cost.
2. Start promoting the upcoming Cyber Monday sale
Make a few announcements on your Facebook page about the sale on Monday. Tell your fans about the products and deals they’ll find in your store. Create awesome images (if you don’t have design experience, use www.canva.com) and don’t forget to tell people exactly what time the sale will go live!
3. Check your inventory after weekend sales
After your sales on Black Friday (and throughout the remainder of the weekend), you might be a bit low on some of your most popular items. Count the items you want to put into your Facebook shop and set them aside so you’ll have them ready. If you’re using ShopTab’s integrated cart you’ll be able to input inventory when you add your products so you don’t oversell anything.
4. Add your Cyber Monday products to your Facebook store
Use high quality images for your products and create compelling deals for your fans (they’ll be expecting great prices and discounts). Place all of your products under the Category “Cyber Monday Sales” in your ShopTab admin page and then you can divide the products into subcategories (e.g. hats, scarves, coats). Mark the products as “inactive” until you are ready to launch!
5. Launch the sale!
At your designated “launch time” announce the opening of the cyber sale in your Facebook store to your fans. Tell them how long the sale will be running and remind them about the great deals they’ll miss if they don’t act quickly.
Remember: You always want to include a link to your store in your Facebook post – then people who are “scrolling” through their Facebook walls can click it and see your store (without the need to come to your page and click the tab)!
6. Promote throughout the day
Continue to post reminders about products and promotions until the end of the sale, but don’t overwhelm people. 2-3 posts should do the trick!
7. Answer questions and respond to comments
Have your Facebook wall notifications turned on, and respond to any questions or comments people post on your wall. Be there for your customers and they’ll become “social shoppers” for life!
