Q: Why did you launch X-Cart?

A: We started with F-Cart, one of the world’s first commercial open source shopping carts. On the 7th of October, 2001 we had released X-Cart v1.0. In a short time X-Cart replaced F-Cart in our product line and became our flagship e-commerce solution.

X-Cart was a jump to a new technical level over F-Cart: rewritten code base, design templates separated from the code, a new user interface, built-in newsletter system. We were constantly improving X-Cart and today it is a leading
shopping cart software that has tons of features and better performance than many other shopping cart solutions.

Q: What features or benefits make X-Cart stand out (such as cross-selling
and up-selling, built-in site search, etc.)

A: X-Cart is faster and has more features than most competitive solutions (including free ones). X-Cart is equipped with the whole range of extra services (including web design, custom development, web hosting, software installation and technical support) directly from our company. Therefore, we can handle the entire technical side to allow clients to concentrate solely on sales and marketing. Also, because X-Cart is a popular e-commerce solution available on the market more than 5 years, there are many custom modifications and skin templates developed by third-parties.

Q: How many products will your eCommerce platform allow?

A: It depends on the server where X-Cart is installed. Most of our customers sell up to 20,000 products without performance issues. Also, we have a couple of customers selling more than 250,000 products in their stores (on specially configured servers and with performance tweaks to the X-Cart source code).

Q: What is the cost for X-Cart’s business application?

A: X-Cart is a licensed web application. It costs from USD $115.00 (see the prices here). Also, we offer a hosted solution based on X-Cart shopping cart software.

Q: What are X-Cart’s future plans for development or additional features?

A: Our goal is still the same: make the best shopping cart software in the world. And we put our efforts towards this goal by constantly improving solutions we offer and releasing new e-commerce products made in accordance with the modern standards.

Q: How is support handled for X-Cart customers?

A: We provide X-Cart users with free patches and free access to future X-Cart versions. Recently, we have launched a self-service portal.
